SYLLABLE RULES (TBA)
Understanding how words work is often a difficult concept for students. For those that struggle in gaining literacy skills, words are often, even more of a mystery.
This course was developed to help eliminate the guesswork and help teachers and students become more comfortable with manipulating words in texts. Familiarity with syllable patterns helps students to read longer words accurately and fluently and to solve spelling problems.
Dividing words into syllables/chunks can be one of the most powerful decoding strategies for students and can be simplified! We will discuss what the syllable rules are and how you can use them to guide your students to read words more accurately and fluently and spell words correctly.
